Festivals after Tet

Festival is the big part in Vietnamese life, especially after Tet festival. Vietnamese people think spring is the begin season of the year, season of restart, proliferation of things and it’s time of earth and sky union. Following the agriculture, spring is also a break time for farmers and people feel like more relaxing and deserved to enjoy what they have gained in previous year.

You can easily find festival in every village in Vietnam after Tet, some held in couple of days, but some last after a few months. Most of festival theme related to the event of culture, religion or national heroic remembrance and often held with traditional games and party. Northern Vietnamese really put festival at high and considered the festival as proud for habitant where they live.

Festival is a beautiful cultural activity in Vietnam and Vietnam is considered the country of most various traditional festivals. Wherever you are in Vietnam this time of the year (Jan, Feb and March), ask the locals for joining some festival, I think this will be the best way to understand Vietnamese and it’s diversity culture.
